COVID-19 Update - 26th August 2020

As things are beginning to ease a bit more, the instructors have had a discussion as to the way forward. Obviously this will depend upon the availability of the different halls we use and therefore the different classes may restart at different times. The classes will also have to be run differently (at least initially – things may change over time as the situation develops):-

  • In keeping with the 2 metre social distancing rule, some classes will need to be smaller in number, depending upon the size & shape of the individual hall.

  • The classes will be of shorter duration - so that one class has time to leave the premises before another arrives.

  • No refreshments will be served, but members can bring their own water bottles.

  • As the numbers per class are likely to be restricted, members will not be able to attend multiple classes in different locations. Members can only attend one class - usually the one where they pay their fees. You instructor will be in touch with you about the arrangements once your class restarts. Please do not turn up “on spec” to a different class, even if you normal class has not restarted.

  • Due to the large numbers normally attending some classes, it may be that members will be divided intogroups, which will be on a rota and only have a slot every two or three weeks. That way all the members get to attend and it is not just a case of “first come, first served” every week. Please do not turn up “on spec” on a different day.

  • No fees to be paid until January 2021.

Classes

We have an open door at the Angus Tai Chi Academy, we welcome everyone that wishes to learn or already practices the Tai Chi and related Arts as originaly taught by Master Moy Lin-Shin.

A staged approach

At the Angus Tai Chi Academy we start by teaching the basic moves and postures of the Tai Chi set until the students can complete the set at a basic level (which may take up to a year).

Then we teach the set again from the beginning, but in more detail, refining the patterns and methods common to all the moves. At this stage, the instruction is meant to help the student relax more deeply into the body's internal structure, as well as opening the joints and ligaments to allow circulation and energy to flow more freely.

As the students progress, the instruction becomes more personal and individual, with each student being given the instruction that he or she needs at the time.

To achieve this Tai Chi classes are offered at two levels: -

Introduction to Tai Chi courses are aimed at complete beginners.

Regular classes are for students that have completed the introductory course.

 Class Fees
    £3 per class attended

Or

A monthly payment of £10 allows attendance at as many available classes as desired per calendar month.
